Debian 8（Jessie）于近日獲得小型維護更新，版本號升級至8.3，開發者修復了諸多BUG并對某些嚴重的問題進行了調整。Debian 8.0于2015年4月份發布，本次維護更新并未添加任何新功能，但是可以當做常規更新。非常有趣的是Debian 8.x同時也是LTS版本，開發者表示將會提供服務至2020年。
The Debian project is pleased to announce the third update of its stable distribution Debian 8 (codename jessie
). This update mainly adds corrections for security problems to the stable release, along with a few adjustments for serious problems. Security advisories were published separately and are referenced where applicable.
Please note that this update does not constitute a new version of Debian 8 but only updates some of the packages included. There is no need to throw away old jessie
CDs or DVDs but only to update via an up-to-date Debian mirror after an installation, to cause any out of date packages to be updated.
Those who frequently install updates from security.debian.org won't have to update many packages and most updates from security.debian.org are included in this update.
New installation media and CD and DVD images containing updated packages will be available soon at the regular locations.
Upgrading to this revision online is usually done by pointing the aptitude (or apt) package tool (see the sources.list(5) manual page) to one of Debian's many FTP or HTTP mirrors. A comprehensive list of mirrors is available at:

此 外在升級本次維護更新中除了各種修復補丁之外，Linux Kernel也升級至3.16.7。目前感興趣用戶無法下載最新的Debian 8.3系統，安裝媒體和Live鏡像都沒有公開上線。不過如果你已經安裝了Debian，那么可以通過常規升級方式來獲得最新的安裝包。

升級之前看下當前的服務器版本
$ uname -mrs
$ lsb_release -a
通過 apt-get commands to upgrade更新升級
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
reboot系統
$ sudo reboot
驗證升級是否順利
$ uname -mrs
$ lsb_release -a
$ dmesg | egrep -i 'err|warn|critical'
$ sudo tail -f /var/log/myapp
